G. Lloyd (Gary) Smith is a historian who is dedicated to preserving and restoring those things from our past that we all hold dear! He has written two books. The first, titled Look! There's Your House, is a true accounting of the painstaking restoration of the Cato house which was built in 1858. This book paints a vivid picture of the trials and tribulations, but also unspeakable joy, that is associated with bringing a true piece of history back to its former "glory"!
Gary's second book, titled Square Tales, is a compilation of memories of growing up in a small Southern town in the 1950's and 1960's. No matter your age or geographical location, you will laugh, cry and truly enjoy taking this ride back in time!
As well as a published author, Gary is a talented singer. His latest musical offering is his new cd/dvd Last Chance which was recorded in Nashville, TN. The title song was written by G. Lloyd Smith. In addition to the title song, this offering also includes some of his all-time favorites.
Gary Lloyd Smith was born in Headland, Alabama, in 1947.
